United
Parcel Service (UPS)

Strengthening Prevention Through Workforce Training and Industry Leadership

Human trafficking often operates within legitimate transportation networks, making awareness and training among transportation professionals a critical line of defense.

United Parcel Service (UPS) has demonstrated meaningful leadership in addressing this challenge through its long-standing partnership with Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) and its commitment to training employees to recognize and report signs of trafficking.

Purpose

To honor UPS's leadership in training employees to identify and prevent human trafficking, and to encourage further engagement in the public markets.

Why

UPS partnered with Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) to train over 200,000 drivers and 3,000 pilots to identify and prevent trafficking in transportation networks.

To date, nearly 230,000 UPS employees have completed human trafficking awareness training, equipping drivers and frontline personnel with the tools to identify suspicious activity and respond appropriately.

This effort reflects a recognition that transportation professionals are uniquely positioned to help disrupt trafficking networks when equipped with the right knowledge and resources.

UPS has also supported the Freedom Drivers Project, a mobile exhibit that educates communities about the realities of human trafficking and the role the transportation industry can play in prevention. Since its launch, the exhibit has traveled thousands of miles across North America, reaching transportation professionals, law enforcement, and the public with critical awareness training.

Through its commitment to training, awareness, and industry engagement, UPS demonstrates how corporate leadership can contribute meaningfully to prevention efforts.

As Esther Goetsch, Executive Director of Truckers Against Trafficking, explains:

“UPS is the kind of partner every organization hopes to find. Their unwavering commitment, consistent support, and dedication to driving systems change through training and engagement make them industry leaders and a model for others. Their investments in fighting human trafficking touch every part of our mission and empower us to achieve our goals.”

By integrating trafficking awareness into workforce training and supporting initiatives that expand industry engagement, UPS provides an example of how corporations can play a constructive role in strengthening prevention across sectors.

Recognition of UPS Leadership in Workforce Training and Industry Engagement to Combat Human Trafficking

Letter body:

As shareholders in UPS and leading innovators in fighting human trafficking, we are writing to express our deep appreciation and admiration for UPS's exemplary leadership in the transportation industry. Your commitment to partner with Truckers Against Trafficking to train over 205,000 UPS drivers, and with the DHS Blue Campaign to train more than 3,000 UPS pilots to identify and prevent human trafficking, marks a meaningful step in safeguarding the vulnerable at scale. We applaud UPS's dedication to ensuring that the transportation sector reflects the highest standards of human rights. By leaning into your position as an industry leader, UPS has helped create a front-line defense against trafficking, utilizing your vast network to spot suspicious activities that might otherwise go unnoticed on our roads and in our skies. We are especially inspired by UPS's willingness to lead by example rather than wait for others to act. Being at the forefront of this initiative sends a clear signal that logistics leadership and ethical responsibility go hand-in-hand. Your efforts to disrupt human trafficking crimes not only protect individuals but also strengthen the integrity of the entire transportation industry. We support UPS's continued investment in these critical training initiatives. We believe these efforts strengthen the long-term value of the institution, reduce significant reputational risks, and reflect the values of your global customer base and the broader community. As such, we enthusiastically support these efforts and encourage UPS to continue advancing meaningful, scalable solutions to combat exploitation. Sincerely, The Eagle Freedom Alliance, managers and advisors to over $100 Billion
